Stock Replacement Driveshafts
Stock Replacement
58-64 Chevrolet Driveshafts
We have redesigned the drive shafts for the 1958 though 1964 Chevrolets to be compatible with today’s more powerful engines.
The photo to the right shows our stock replacement shaft set. It uses the stock, 1.25 inch bearing stub. Since these are no longer available, we reproduce them using 4130 steel. This set also features the 7075 T-6 center support bearing we designed and manufacture. In addition this set comes with a telescoping rear shaft to absorb length changes caused by suspension movement. The OEM design previously allowed for this movement but has proven to be too weak for the power of today’s engines.
The photo to the left shows our “502 Kit” It has been designed for use with engines building more than 500 horsepower. The 502 Kit features a larger 1.5 inch diameter bearing stub, 3 inch tube and Spicer 1350 universal joints. This set also comes with the 7075 T-6 bearing support and the telescoping rear shaft.
58-64 Chevrolet Car
Our 7075 T-6 center support may be purchased separately. However, we strongly recommend buying it together with the telescoping rear shaft section. The polyurethane will not allow as much suspension induced length change as d the OEM unit did. Because the OEM design is not up to the power of modern engines, the length changes can be dealt with by the telescoping ability of this shaft design.
94-96 GM Impala and Caprice
The OEM design for the driveshafts of these cars was pushed to the limits of 3 inch diameter tube. As a result, when you change rear end ratios or add longer trailing arms to center the wheels in the rear wheel wells, a vibration suddenly develops. Our 3.5 inch aluminum driveshafts eliminate this problem at normally posted speeds, plus. They are available with stock universal joints and with the Spicer 1350 series u-joints.
2004 - 2006 GTO
Designed for the '04 to '06 Pontiac GTO this kit features a single piece aluminum shaft complete with transmission yoke. It also comes with a new 1350 series pinion yoke eliminating the need for an adapter plate. This configuration was tested on the drag strip for two years prior to its release. The shaft comes fully assembled, balanced and ready to install.
2005 - 2010 Mustang
Our 4" diameter one piece Aluminum shaft replaces the heavy steel two piece shaft used in these cars. You will save about 25 pounds of rotating weight by changing to one of these shafts. Our single piece shafts were tested on the drag strip for two years before being offerred for sale. In addition no adapters are required for using these shafts. They bolt right in!
